Ecigwizard now able to audit ISO 17025 internally
Laurie from Ecigwizard – manufacturers of vaper liquids attended the ISO 17025 Lead Auditor training course in Coventry. With over twenty years’ worth of auditing experience she was able to introduce a more structured approach to auditing and audit the Chemistry Department to ISO 17025.
What were your training objectives?
We currently work under the remit of ISO 9001 but our Chemistry Department is applying for ISO 17025 accreditation. I wanted to update my skills so that I can improve the internal audits for this department.
What learning did you take from the course?
I have over 20 years’ experience of auditing within ISO 9001, 13485 and 17025 so I am very familiar with the content. I took away very useful and practical information on the format for how to conduct and process audits for other departments. In particular how to conduct the before and after meetings.
Have you been able to apply anything since the course?
I recently audited two key suppliers and used this format which was much more structured and it was easier to break into sections. I also found it easier to write the report having completed it in this format.
What have been the benefits for you and the business?
We now have much more structured audits in place and I have enhanced knowledge on audit techniques and ISO 17025
How was the tutor?
Tim was an amazing tutor and really brought out the key points in the course. He provided an excellent summary of clauses for us which made it much easier for referencing. Although the experience of delegates on the course was very varied, Tim catered for this extremely well, including handling all sorts of questions!
What was the venue like?
Ansty Hall, Coventry
Rooms, food and refreshments were very good. The hotel was well organised with menus, even organising packed lunches for people on the final day.
Any advice to delegates?
Read up on ISO 17025 standard so that you are familiar with it before the training it will really help you.
Would you recommend Bywater?
Yes, I would and we are looking to book in-house training for ISO 9001 at the end of 2017.
