If you are an internal or external auditor of quality management systems working in the automotive industry, then this transition course will update your knowledge and skills to the latest version of the standard – IATF16949:2016. It will also be of value to anyone, including senior managers, for whom it would be useful to understand the changes needed to upgrade their QMS.
A transition course enables you to understand the differences between the versions of the standard in terms of structure, terminology and approach, and plan necessary changes in your organisation.
Up-to-date knowledge of IAFT 16949 and quality management systems will benefit your organisation, and enable you to meet requirements for registered auditors.
The original standard for the automotive industry, TS 16949 has been superseded by IATF 16949 and certification to the original standard is no longer valid. Organisations aiming to supply to the automotive industry need to be able to demonstrate compliance to IATF 16949.
There are key differences between the two standards. While both TS 16949 and IATF 16949 aim at ensuring quality management in the automotive industry, IATF 16949 incorporates a risk-based approach, aligns with the structure of ISO 9001:2015, and emphasises customer-specific requirements and continuous improvement.
